Founder's Day Meeting August 2024 - Synopsis

Founder's Day Joint Meeting

Taj Mahal Hotel Ballroom 14th August 2024

Founders Day was celebrated by all three wings in patriotic style. Committee members donned the colours of our Tricolour, and the Taj had beautifully decorated the Ballroom with bouquets and decor in orange, white, and green to suit the occasion. It was a festive atmosphere befitting the day.

Each of the four Founders was felicitated in style, accompanied by a melodious song sung by our crooner, Kavita Murti. They danced and mimed the words, with an enthusiastic audience cheering them on. Mridula Agarwal recited a poem in their honour.

Swami Vivekananda and Rani Lakshmi Bai were brought back to life in costume, and the audience joined in to recite poems in their honour—bringing back distant memories of school days. National fervour and patriotism were evident in all present.

Kavita Murti lit up the Ballroom with her peppy numbers and nostalgic tunes. Members of all ages were seen gyrating and shaking their hips. When the floor got too crowded, the ladies danced with gay abandon wherever there was space. Every toe was tapping, and every hand was clapping. It was a joyous musical tribute to the Founders.

The lavish buffet spread was a delectable mix of Indian, Chinese, and Thai cuisine, presented with the elegance characteristic of the Taj Group of Hotels. The kulfi desserts were in shades of our Tricolour.

Ladies wore huge smiles as they left the venue, carrying fond memories of an enjoyable afternoon in celebration of our Founders.
