Nayee Disha

“We cannot help everyone, but everyone can help someone”

Our dream was to empower underprivileged women with self -worth and earning skills. This vision was materialized with our vocational training centre at Shah & Nahar Estate, started on 9th June 2015.

As the name suggests, ‘NAYEE DISHA’ – gave women a new direction by teaching them earning skills to use their time gainfully.

We have several courses on offer - Spoken English, Beautician's Course, Mehndi application and Foot Spa - all taught professionally. The Tailoring class remains the most popular. Ladies are taught to make festive and gifting items. Beautiful, coordinated necklaces were designed, which sold popularly. When orders started pouring in, the club had to employ some ladies on a full-time basis. They were paid per piece for the items they made. It was an “Earn as you Learn” policy, which gave them financial stability. Word of mouth publicity increased the popularity of the center, and number of students increased.

Besides the Ruchika Fest, Nayee Disha now participates in several outside shows. Their products are appreciated. Students man the stall themselves, giving a further boost to their confidence and creativity. Foot Spas and shoulder and neck massages are offered for public events.

The dedicated team overseeing Nayee Disha visit the centre regularly to teach and train the girls in innovative skills.
