CHIPLUN FLOODS
In July 2021, the marooned residents of a storm-battered Chiplun, moved the heart of
Ruchika Club. We wanted to help and support the local people, so shaken were we by
visuals of submerged villages.
As part of our Golden Anniversary charity drive, The Club distributed 5000 meals to flood-ravaged areas in Chiplun and Mahad through an NGO - SAMAST MAHAJAN SAMAJ, whose 25 volunteers were stationed there, to work diligently to bring relief to the unfortunates who were victims of nature’s fury.
100 dry ration packets were also distributed among the locals.
Meals were distributed by autos, as the roads in the region were damaged.
The gratitude of the residents was ample solace to fulfill our motto of “Serve and Heal”.
